Brunei, Russia join hands in tackling drug trafficking
Aimed at establishing cooperation between the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Brunei Darussalam and the Federal Service of the Russian Federation for Narcotics Traffic Control, the first meeting between the two agencies took place at The Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong yesterday.
Representing NCB were Acting Director Haji Jaffari bin Haji Mahadi and Acting Deputy Director Osmawi bin Haji Osman as well as senior NCB officials.
Their Russian counterpart was represented by Deputy Director of the Department on New Challenges and Threats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Rogov. He was accompanied by three officials from the department.
The meeting was held to establish bilateral cooperation between the two agencies in a joint effort to combat illicit and illegal drug trafficking.
